How does the CNIB Foundation 50/50 draw work?

The 50/50 draw administered by CNIB is a raffle licensed by the Gaming and Policy Enforcement Branch (BCGPEB), where individuals purchase ticket(s) for the opportunity to win 50% of the total money raised through the sale of 50/50 tickets for that draw.

Where does the other 50% of the proceeds raised go?

The other 50% of the proceeds raised will support CNIB Foundation programs across BC that are benefit those who are blind or partially sighted. To learn more about CNIB and our programs, please visit www.cnib.ca

Who is eligible to buy 50/50 draw tickets?

If you meet the following criteria, you are eligible to purchase 50/50 draw tickets:

 Must be 19 years of age or older at the time of purchase

 Must be located in the Province of British Columbia at time of purchase

Note Prior to the purchase of a ticket online, you will be required to verify your eligibility and that the information is complete and accurate.

Where can I purchase tickets for the 50/50 draw?

Tickets for the CNIB 50/50 draw can be purchased the following ways:

Can I play more than once in a draw?

Yes. You can purchase more than one ticket per draw

What are the odds of winning?

The odds of winning the prize are based on the number of tickets sold during an event.

What is your refund or return policy?

All 50/50 draw ticket sales (retail sales or online) are final and may not be exchanged or refunded.

How is the winning number drawn?

A unique winning number is randomly generated and issued by the electronic 50/50 system out of the numbers purchased (online) for that draw. The mechanism for selecting the winning number is a computer-based random number generator that has been certified by the (BCGPEB).

When do sales open?

The ticket sales start November 2, 2020.

When is the winning number drawn and posted?

50/50 Ticket Sales close at 11:59 pm on December 10, 2020. The winning number will be drawn 10:00 am on December 11, 2020. Once the winning 50/50 number has been drawn and posted, you can find it at www.bc5050.cnib.ca and the estimated prize amount.

If I have the winning 50/50 number, how do I claim my prize?

If you have the winning 50/50 number will be contacted by phone. Alternatively you can contact Shalon Morrison at Shalon.Morrison@cnib.ca or call 604-431-2121 extension 6012

Online ticket sales must be claimed by the individual(s) named in the original purchase transaction. CNIB is not responsible for any division of the winning prize amount to any other party other than the individual(s) named in original purchase transaction.

What currency is the prize money paid in?

All transactions and winnings are paid in Canadian Dollars. Prizes will be paid by cheque payable to the winner.

When can I expect to receive my winnings?

Prize winnings will be paid by cheque within 30 days of the completion of the claim process.

Do I need to live in British Columbia to play?

Yes, you do need to live in the province of British Columbia to purchase a 50/50 ticket. You do need to be physically located within the province of British Columbia at the time of purchase of your online 50/50 ticket to be eligible to play.

How can I pay for my online 50/50 ticket?

Our online 50/50 website accepts the following payment types: Visa, MasterCard, and American Express.

I cannot access BC5050.cnib.ca. What should I do?

Per (BCGPEB) regulations - please be advised that you must be located within the province of British Columbia at the time of your purchase. Your device's locations services must be turned on to your location prior to verify entry to the online 50/50 sales platform. Users must also agree to all Terms and Conditions outlined.

I purchased a 50/50 ticket but did not get my numbers. What should I do?

If you purchased your 50/50 ticket but did not receive your numbers, please check your junk or spam folders in the event it was flagged by your email provider. If you still do not have your 50/50 ticket, contact Shalon.Morrison@cnib.ca and our support staff will re-send your raffle numbers (some verification will be required). If your transaction completed successfully, your numbers will still be part of the draw.
